Florence Rebecca Brown Braden, 82, of Enon Valley, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021.
Born June 16, 1938, in Big Beaver Borough at the home of her parents, the late Clair and Leona Beck Brown, she lived in Enon Valley for most of her life. Florence was a 1956 graduate of East Palestine High School and worked in the office of Babcock & Wilcox before her marriage in December of that year. She retired from McCarter Transit in 2000, following a 29 ½ year career as a school bus driver.
She lived a life of service to her family and friends and, just as importantly, to her church and community having served with many organizations throughout the years, including: the Enon Presbyterian Church; the Enon Valley Community Historical Society; and as Mayor of Enon Valley Borough.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 ½ years, Carl D. Braden, and her brother, Donald Brown.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (James) Pietsch, Enon Valley; son, David (Rhonda) Braden, Camp Hill, PA; son, William (Barbara) Braden, Scott Air Force Base, IL; five grandchildren, Justin (Liz) Braden, Adam (Katie) Braden, Julie Pietsch, Lindsay (Devin) LaRue, and Scott Braden; eight great-grandchildren, Jackson, Rhys, Harrison, Jonah, Ella, Olivia, Imogene and Emerson. She is also survived by her brothers, William (Dianne Haney) Brown and Robert (Marilyn) Brown; sister, Alice (Philip) Jubb; many nieces; a nephew; and cousins.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801-4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
Additional visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00AM in the Enon Presbyterian Church, with her pastor Rev. Duane Herron.
Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, PA.
