George Carter Obituary

George David Carter, 79, formerly of Big Beaver, went to be with his lord on Sunday, August 21, 2022. Born March 15, 1943, in Ravenna, OH, he was the son of the late George and Margaret Carter.

George was a proud veteran of the Vietnam war, honorably serving our country in the US Army. He was a loyal member of the Beaver Falls American Legion. George was an avid sports fan. If there was a Pirates game on TV, he would be watching. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports, cheering from the sideline. He loved hunting, fly-fishing, and golfing with dear friends Jim, Richie, Jerry, and nephew, Bret.

George was the beloved husband of Nancy (Renn) Carter for 58 years. He was the cherished father of Brian (Jenelle) Carter, North Sewickley, and Christan McClinton, Beaver. He was also the proud grandfather of Marlana (Dean) Marlowe, Lauren McClinton, Austin (Victoria) McClinton, Chase Carter, and great-granddaughter, Sloane Marlowe. George is also survived by sisters Linda McFadden & Beverly Williams, and nephew Bret Byers. He will be dearly missed by his beloved dog, Jake.

In honoring George’s request, there will be no service. The family would like to thank Dr. Sestito, the staff at Hospice of the Valley, and Nurse Flo for taking great care of George in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of The Valley in North Lima, OH- 9803 Sharrott Rd. Youngstown, OH 44514.

Until we meet again.

We will think about you always,

We talk about you still,

You have never been forgotten,

And you never will.

We hold you close within our hearts,

And there you will remain,

To walk and guide us through our lives,

Until we meet again.

George David Carter
