Helen Young

     Helen Young, 100, formerly of Beaver Falls and Ocala, FL passed away Sunday,
June 5, 2022.
     Helen was born on January 23, 1922 in Zelienople to the late John and Elizabeth
(Toth) Soltes. She was a graduate of Zelienople High School and a member of the
former St. Philomena Parish.
     Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harry H. Young in
2005.
     Surviving are their five children, Shirley (James) Hasler, Roscoe, IL, Sharon
(Charles) Lawrence, Springfield, OH, Donald (Julie) Young, Richmond, VA, Robert
(Renee) Young, Naples, FL and Holly (Samuel) Taff, Woodstock, VA; twelve
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a “favorite neighbor” Becky Fife,
Beaver.
     Helen was an amazing cook, known especially for her pies. She was a member
of Happy Hands, a sign language group. She loved traveling, playing cards, and
going to the beach with her family.
     Helen spent the last 2 years in Hearth and Home Assisted Living in Springfield,
Ohio. She was well loved and taken care of by the staff.
     A Blessing Service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Zelienople Mausoleum
located in St. Gregory’s Cemetery on South Oliver Avenue in Zelienople.
