Jack L. Fenchel, 95, of Big Beaver Boro passed away on January 3, 2024 with his immediate family by his side.
Jack lived his Christian life by generously sharing his time, talents, and treasurers with his family, friends, and strangers. Jack worked as an operating engineer for J.H. Brooks and Sons. He retired from there in 1990 and opened the very successful Golden Eagle Archery Shop in the basement of his home where he greeted many friends and people soon to be friends. Some of Jack’s accomplishments included being an active member of the Big Beaver Volunteer Fire Department and the construction of the first firehall. Jack was an active member of the Big Beaver School Board in the 1960’s. In 1969 he was a founding member of the Big Beaver Little League and Pony League baseball. He constructed a ball field and procured all the equipment. In 1968 Jack was instrumental in introducing the Soap Box Derby competition in Beaver Falls. Jack was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Beaver Falls. He designed and helped build the church social building and daycare center. Jack was an inventor and held 3 patents. Throughout his life Jack was an avid amateur photographer and loved to hunt and fish.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Nancy L (Javens) Fenchel, 2018; his parents, Arthur and Martha (Boyer) Fenchel; a brother, Dale Fenchel and two sisters, Jean Stinson and Eleanor Kraynie.
Surviving are his four sons, Kenneth (Donna) Fenchel, Lexington, SC, Jerry Fenchel, TX, Bill Fenchel, Darlington, David Fenchel, Big Beaver Boro; five grandchildren, Kenneth (Sheila) Fenchel Jr., Diana (Ryan) Herring, Shaun (Lindsay) Fenchel, Erin (Shawn) Gerald, Heather Fenchel; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Avenue, Beaver Falls. Private interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver Boro.
