James Edward Foley, 80, of North Sewickley Township, died Saturday June 17, 2023 in Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born April 26, 1943 in Beaver Falls, was the son of the late Thomas & Elizabeth (Dudas) Foley.
He was a 1965 graduate of Beaver Falls High School and 1971 Graduate of Slippery Rock University earning a Bachelor of Science in Education. He retired as a Draw Bench Operator & Foreman from Moltrup Steel, and was an eighth grade educator for St. Philomena’s Catholic School.
Jim was a PIAA official for many years, officiating basketball, baseball, softball and soccer. He also coached boy’s basketball for many years at St. Philomena’s Catholic School.
He enjoyed fishing and camping with Jake, Seth, Matt & Derek with many “fish” stories to tell. He was an avid movie buff with Westerns being his favorite. His greatest pleasure was time spent with his grandchildren in any capacity.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Andrea ( Wasko) Foley, daughter Erin (Christopher) Weller, a son Matthew Foley; grandchildren Paige & Seth Weller, Emma & Jake Foley. Siblings Thomas ( Shirley) Foley, Michael ( Diane) Foley, Patrick ( Linda) Foley and Anne Spanik. Sister-in-laws Stephanie (Larry) Matrazzo and Kitty ( Thomas) Woodske and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew Derek Hill.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents Steven & Elizabeth Dudas, In laws Walter & Evelynne Wasko, sister Marianne Hill, and two step sisters Peggy Young and Patty Henry.
As per Jim’s wishes there will be no visitation.
Private services will be held for the immediate family and close friends at a later date
