Jean (Zanker) Shingleton, 61, of Beaver Falls, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, with her loving family at her side.
Born on October 10, 1960, in Aliquippa, she was the daughter of Joann (Sevick) and the late Robert Zanker. Jean graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in Information Sciences and Technology. She used her degree to then become an engineer working for Fed-ex. She was a truly unique, wonderful, and beautiful soul whose presence impacted everyone she encountered.
Jean is survived by her loving husband, Mark Shingleton; children, Amanda (Nick) Burzese, Shane (Cindy) Jobe, Jonathan (Kaylee) Shingleton, Carli (Ed Payne) Shingleton, and Aaron Shingleton; grandchildren, Valentina, Ethan, Nevaeh, Gabriel, Leonidas, Chase, Harper, Alexa, and two on the way; brothers, Bob (the late Debbie) Zanker, and Alan (Paula) Zanker; best friend, who felt more like a sister, Cindy Fitzgerald-Plocinik; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her father, she is preceded in death by her mother-in-law whom she cared about very much, Shirley Shingleton.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, INC.- 3801 4th Avenue, College Hill, www.hillandkunselman.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 12:00 PM (Noon) in the St. Monica Roman Catholic Church- 116 Thorndale Drive, Chippewa Township, with Father John Naugle as celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at both the Beaver and Pittsburgh Allegheny Health Network facilities for the extreme amount of care and comfort they brought to Jean during her battle.
