Jessie Manypenny Obituary

Jessie Mae “Penny” (Little) Manypenny, 85, longtime resident of Alliance, Ohio, and recently of Darlington, PA, graduated to Heaven as she peacefully closed her eyes in earthly rest, and awoke in Glory to see her Saviour face to face on Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Born on March 14, 1937, in East Liverpool,Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John and Olive Little. Penny worked many different jobs throughout her life including: working at a basket factory while in high school; attending to the family dairy farm with her former husband, the late Howard Manypenny, as well as being owner her own tropical fish store and kennel in North Benton Ohio. She also worked as a laborer and a supervisor of a crew at the Alliance Pallet yard and later on retired from Central Coated Products where she received  several awards as a shift team leader after 20 years of operating shears and other machinery. She was a member of the Alliance Eagles #2174. Penny loved her family and enjoyed: shopping with her friends, going to garage sales, and doing animal rescue projects. Penny had a natural gardening talent and always  maintained the most beautiful array of flower beds in each home she had taking great pride in sharing them with others. Penny attended the Alliance Baptist Temple in the late 70's where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. In 1987 she started  attending the Mayfield Bible Baptist Church in Beaver Falls PA  in 1987 when her son and daughter-in-law (Kenneth and Shari Manypenny) moved there to assume the position  of Pastor of the church. In  2013, Penny moved to PA , to be with her son and his family.

She is survived by her loving son, Dr. Kenneth (the late Sharon “Shari”) Manypenny, Pastor of Mayfield Bible Baptist Church, Beaver Falls PA; step-daughter, Brenda Criss and her family of Salem Ohio; two granddaughters, Rebekah (Daniel) Leonard of Washington PA, and Rachel (Joseph) Mayhugh of Darlington PA; seven great-grandchildren: Kailyn, Olivia, Madisyn, Sean, Raiden, Raelynn, and Nathan; a brother, James Barnhart and sister Sylvia (both of West Virginia); sister-in-law, Jennie (Manypenny) Halczak of Diamond Ohio; many nieces and nephews; as well as many who lovingly claimed Penny as their adopted "grandma".

In addition to her parents, Penny is preceded in death by a son, Randy Manypenny, 1993; sister, Maryann Manypenny; brother, Charles Barnhart; and grandmother who raised her, Jessie McCoy.

There will be a Celebration of  Life Service in her honor, scheduled for October 1st, officiated  by her son, Dr. Kenneth Manypenny at the Mayfield Bible Baptist Church located  at 501 37th St. Beaver Falls PA , where family and friends will be greeted beginning at 1PM until the service at 2pm. Private entombment will take place in Highland Memorial Park in Beloit, Ohio on Wednesday September 7th.
