Louis “Stu” Stuart Hammerle, 85, of Brighton Twp., went home to Jesus, Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
Stu was born on August 22, 1935 in Beaver Falls to the late Louis J. and Pearl (Leiper) Lanning Hammerle. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed traveling across the country, swapping stories with strangers and friends as an over-the-road truck driver for over 50 years. He attended Champion Life Church, Chippewa Twp. Stu also enjoyed Saturday visits to Eat-n-Park with his brother and sister-in-law and time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are three daughters, Bonnie (Gary) Bookman, Negley, OH, Beckie (Don) Cottage, Industry, Barbara (Ron) Duncan, New Brighton; a son, Brian (Laurie) Hammerle, Ambridge; ten grandchildren, Colton, Quinton and Katelyn Bookman, Amanda (Matt) Chute, Alaina Cottage, Torrey (Shelbee) Cox, Justin Cox, Gage Hammerle, Corrine (Jacob) Burchett, Gionna Hammerle; two great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Rita Hammerle, Patterson Twp. and a brother-in law, Louis Brown, Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Martha Garber, Katherine Moorhead, Vera Coleman, Madelyn Warrick, Betsy Brown and three brothers, Paul, Glenn and Jack Lanning. Due to the Pandemic, a private service was held for his family on Saturday, officiated by his pastor, Larry Bettencourt.
He will be interred in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA
