Obituary
Mary (Gurcak) Mengon Paff, 94, formerly of Beaver and Chippewa Twp. passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Franciscan Manor where she resided with her husband.
Mary was born on December 25, 1928 in the Carrick Borough of Pittsburgh. She was the 11th of 12 children born to the late Joseph and Helen (Bies) Gurcak. Mary was a member St. Augustine Parish in Chippewa Twp. and a member of the former Holy Family Parish in New Brighton.
In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert C. Mengon in 1982; a son, Robert P. Mengon in 2000 and a son-in-law, David LaRocca in 2022.
She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Paff; two sons, James (Linda) Mengon, Freedom and Daniel (Caroline) Mengon, Ambridge; five daughters, Rose LaRocca, North East, PA, Amelia Mengon, Aurora, CO, Juliet (Joe) Mancino, Cranberry Twp., Laura (Ed) Duran, Jacksonville, FL, Elle Mengon Cincinnati, OH; nine grandchildren, Breanna Mengon, Trevor Mengon, William (Emily) Mengon, Dr. Laura Wallace (Dr. Albert Kim), Dr. Leslie (Michael) Quick, Emily Mancino (her fiancée Dr. Curtis Marino), Matthew Mancino, Joseph Duran and Elena Duran; 2 great-grandchildren; a niece whom she was especially close to, Lee Ann (Thomas) Szelog, Whitefield, ME and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition, she is survived by five stepchildren, Kathleen Close, Donna (Tom) Campbell; North Sewickley Twp., James (Barb) Paff, North Sewickley Twp., Patty Paff-Snyder (Bill), North Sewickley Twp., Gregory (Colleen) Paff, Aliquippa and 12 step-grandchildren.
As per her request there will be no viewing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 25th at 12:30 p.m. at St. Augustine Parish, 116 Thorndale Road in Beaver Falls.
