Myrna Ortinberg

Myrna Ortinberg, 89, of Beaver Falls, passed away Monday January 27, 2020.

Born February 9, 1930 in Rochester, PA.  She was the daughter of the late Tenie and William Barnett.  Myrna was a 1948 graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh before marrying her husband of 69 years, Nathan, in 1950.

Myrna was a gifted artist whose artwork has been exhibited extensively throughout the Tri-state area and beyond. She was a former board member of The Merrick Art Gallery Associates and taught children’s classes there. She was also a longtime member of Beaver Valley Artists and the Beaver Art Group, in addition to working with children at the Center for Creative Arts Expression in Beaver Falls.  She believed that “Art is life and life is Art.”

She was a former member of the Beaver Valley United Jewish Community Center, Outlook Club, and was a lifetime member of Hadassah.

She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Ortinberg. She is survived by her husband, Nathan Ortinberg; a son, Larry Ortinberg; two sisters, Fern Faigen and Natalie Phillips; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 1:00PM in the Agudath Achim Cemetery, Patterson Twp., with Rabbi Howard Stein officiating.
