Nancy Simmons Obituary

Nancy Jane (Ritchie) Simmons, 87, of Beaver Falls, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday February 17th, 2022. Nancy will forever be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  She rejoins the love of her life, Thomas, her husband of 55 years. 

Born February 12, 1935, in Beaver Falls, the daughter of the late Eva (Farrall) and Claire Ritchie.  Nancy was a graduate of the Beaver Falls class of 1953.  She worked at JCPenney’s in Beaver Falls for many years.  She started as a stock person while she was still in high school and worked there until the early 80’s.  During this time, she was also heavily involved in the Beaver Falls Football Boosters.  She then became the secretary for M & S Racing Enterprise in Freedom, until the business was sold in 2003.  During this time, she also cherished taking care of her grandchildren while they were young.  Her family was her life, she spent many years at the dragstrip with her husband Tom and the rest of their family.  She was also a former member of the Fairlane Club and Mid-Ohio Ford Club. Through Tom and Nancy, a multigenerational love for racing was born and will be carried on. 

Nancy is survived by her children; Jodi (Peter) Zwieryznski, Beaver Falls, PA, Deborah (Spencer) Williams, Beaver Falls, PA, Sean (Tracy) Simmons, New Waterford, OH, Lorraine D’Andrea (Rob), Braintree, MA and Carol “Cas” Hirst, Easton, MA.

Grandchildren; Thomas (Brit), Sarah, Emily (BJ), Andrew (Adrienne), Joshua (Carly), Adam (Cassandra), Casey (Kristin), Cole (Abigail), Eric (Shannon), Becky (Jerry), Missy (Jason), Zach (Bessie), Pete (Kelli), Leanne (Ron) and Kelly (Mac).

Great Grandchildren; Clara, Lawson, Maverick, Spencer, Coleson, Oakley, Max, Tatianna, Joslynn, Wade, Declan, Jethro, Noel, Taylor, Ronnie, Nick, Gabby, Brandon, Dylan, Sam, Jackson, Gage, Shantell, Josh, Raja, and Jason Jr. 

She also leaves behind a sister Lois Palitti of New Galilee and a brother-in-law Donald (Paula) Simmons Jr. of Beaver Falls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas Simmons, and nephew Terry Johnke.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3:00 until time of service at 6:00 PM with Deacon Tom Turney officiating, in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME-3801 4th Avenue, College Hill, www.hillandkunselman.com.
