Raymond Paul Engle, 75, of North Sewickley Township, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 28, 2022.
Born on May 22, 1947, in Beaver Falls, he was a son of the late Raymond and Mary (Balzer) Engle. Ray was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War, where he earned many decorations such as the Purple Heart, and Bronze Star. He was also an active member of the Holy Redeemer Parish, the Beaver Falls American Legion Post 261, Beaver Falls Elks Lodge 348, and Beaver Falls Turners. Ray enjoyed watching the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football games. He was also a very competitive card player and loved telling jokes.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Anna (Carusone) Engle; children, Heather (Justin Curcio) Zuniga, Christine (Vincent) Scappe, and Michael Engle; grandchildren, Julianna, Elle, Vincenzo, Santino, and Antonio; brother, William (Carol) Engle; sister, Rosemary (Kerien) Fitzpatrick; sisters-in-law, Donna and Pamela Engle; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and George “Bud” Engle; and an uncle, Fr. Raymond Balzer.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, INC.- 3801 4th Avenue, College Hill, www.hillandkunselman.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday morning at 11:00 AM in the Divine Grace Parish – Holy Redeemer Church with Father James Wehner as celebrant.
Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery where the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 862 will be conducting full military honors.
