Richard R. “Dick” Gosnell, 92, of Chippewa Twp. passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
Dick was born on January 11, 1931 in Richland Twp., Allegheny County to the late Richard Arthur and Elizabeth (Turk) Gosnell. He was the initial owner of Gosnell Service in Eastvale. He was a devoted member of First United Presbyterian Church in Darlington, where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and held various offices throughout the years. Dick enjoyed competitive Horseshoe Throwing and was awarded “Beaver County Horseshoe Champion of the Year” multiple times.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. (Bonzo) Gosnell in 2014; an infant son, David Harry Gosnell; a grandson, Timothy Worrell and a son-in-law, Bruce Worrell.
Surviving are his three daughters and their husbands, Kathy Fuller (Alex), Holly Springs, NC, Nancy Stokes (Carl), Mercersburg, PA, Barbara Sullivan (Donald), Big Beaver Borough; seven grandchildren, Robin Wienke (Brien), Paula Stokes, Denver Stokes, Shawna Androlia (Christopher), Stacey Bush (Bill), Kelly Everhart (Shawn), Ryan Sullivan (Sarah); nine great grandchildren and a sister, June Long, New Alexandria, PA.
Friends will be received Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Avenue, Beaver Falls. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at First United Presbyterian Church in Darlington. Interment will follow in Seceder Cemetery.
