Ruth Evelyn Augostine

Ruth Evelyn (Taylor) Augostine, 91, of New Galilee, formerly of Beaver Falls and New Castle, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on October 3, 2020.

Born June 21, 1929, in Silverdale, Washington, Ruth was the oldest daughter of Jonathan H. and Ruth I. (Swanson) Taylor. She attended New Castle High School. On November 24, 1948, she married Victor J. Augostine, Sr., to whom she was married for 39 years before his passing in 1988. Ruth was a homemaker and spent many years volunteering for organizations that were important to her, including Geneva College and St. Rose Parish. She served as President of St. Rose Christian Mothers and President and Vice President of the Little Beaver 55+ Club. From 1966-1970, she operated with her husband “Augie’s Newsstand” on 7th Avenue in Beaver Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Vic, her brothers David, Richard, and Ralph, her sisters, Carrie E. “Betty” DeSatnik, Nancy Beecher, Jean Taylor, and Joan Taylor.

Survivors include her four children, Victor J. Augostine, Jr. of South Beaver Township, Barbara (Robert) Frum of New Galilee, Marshall “Dee” (Kathy) Augostine of East Palestine, OH, and Thomas (Renee) Augostine of South Beaver Township; grandchildren include Marcie Frum Milone (Jeff Riedel) of Edgewater, MD, Carrie (Jeff) Thomas of Canonsburg, Jenifer (Jeremy McCarty) Augostine of Beaver Falls, Brittney (Ben Smith) Fryer of South Beaver Township, and Victor J. Augostine, III, and Nicole (Augostine) Vasko; great grandchildren include Patrick, Nicholas, and Annalisa Milone and Leah Thomas; a brother, Jonathan Taylor of Sacramento, CA, and sister Carol Ann (John) Gramsky of New Castle; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sally Wagoner of Chippewa Township, Teresita “Terry” Pascua and Jerome Pascua of Louisville, KY, and Dorothy Colella of White Township.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.

Private interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Beaver Falls, PA.
