Ruth Fenchel

Ruth E. Fenchel, 84, formerly of Big Beaver Boro and later at Omni West in Youngstown, passed away Sunday, December 27, at Hospice House in Youngstown.

She was born on October 25, 1936 in Monaca to the late Richard and Agnes Jeannette (Leiper) Plowmaker. In her younger years she was a secretary for the former Mayer China in Beaver Falls. She was a member of the former College Hill United Methodist Church, Past President of the College Hill Women’s Club and the Beaver Falls Garden Club and a member of the Beaver Falls Junior Women’s Club. Ruth took great pride in her flowers and loved gardening. In her later years she enjoyed spending time with her friends in her Bunko Club and Craft Club.

She is survived by her husband, Donald W. Fenchel, New Springfield, OH; three children and their spouses, Lynn and Kris Diehl, Berlin Center, OH, Elaine and Clifford Sodergren, New Springfield, OH, Curtis and Dusty Fenchel, West Mayfield; five grandsons, Brandon and Ryan Diehl, Eric, Allen and Andrew Sodergren; a granddaughter, Sophia Fenchel; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Alice Plowmaker.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber Fenchel; a brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Katherine Plowmaker; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Ann Welsh, Sally and Ken Grieder and Marjorie Greaves.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls.

Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
