Thomas R. Reed

Thomas R. Reed, 77, of Chippewa Township passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020.

Tom was born on May 28, 1943 in New Brighton to the late Laymon and Frances (Martincek) Reed. He was a graduate of New Brighton High School, Class of 1961 and Geneva College. After college he began working for St. Joe Lead then went on to work for Dowdy Long Wall Corp., D.L. Trucking Co., Hauhinco Inc. and retired as an insurance salesman for Malagise and Associates.

Tom was a member of the former Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Falls, Harmony Lodge F & AM No. 429, Beaver County Caravan # 18, Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle, Syria Shriners, Beaver Falls Turners, Monaca American Legion Post 580, Rochester Elks #283, V.F.W. Post 8805, Aliquippa Elks Lodge # 1221 and the Ukrainian Club in Aliquippa.

In addition to all his memberships, Tom loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years Bonnie ( Reed ) Reed, Chippewa Township; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Tammy Blostic, South Beaver Township; a sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and David Oshop, New Brighton; two nieces, Kelley Cardosi and Kasey Inman; two grandchildren and a best friend, Mike Hirsekorn, who was like a brother to him, and his wife Jeannie.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will be in Sylvania Hills Cemetery, Daugherty Township.

Bonnie would like all their friends and neighbors to know how much she deeply appreciates everything that has been done for her and Tom throughout his illness.
