Leroy Richard Balmer      

Patterson Township

Leroy Richard Balmer, 72, of Patterson Township, died Monday, March 4, 2019 in Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born February 18, 1947 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Merle and Elizabeth Ann Krovich Balmer.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam War.  He retired from Magnetics in Blawnox, PA where he was an electrical engineer. 

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years Deirdre Cumbay Balmer, two children and their spouses, Lauren and Josh Wetter, Economy Boro, Jeffrey and Michael Balmer, Philadelphia, PA, a brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Mary Balmer, Patterson Heights, his father-in-law, Steve Cumbay, Pittsburgh, PA, and many loving nieces and nephews.

As per his wishes, there was no public visitation.

He will be interred in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road,  Bridgeville, PA 15017 at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to Good Samaritan Hospice, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice for all of their loving care and support for Rich.

I am so sorry to hear about Richard. We went to High school together. Please accept my sincere condolences. We had such a large class and did not know each other to well but are sad to lose a class member. God Bless Him. Judie
